What Went Wrong During NASA’s Artemis II Mission?

April 1, 2026, one of the most powerful launch vehicles in history, the Space Launch System, lifts off from a specially upgraded launch pad at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Thousands of specialists, from engineers to mission control operators, are watching every second of the launch. Everything has to go perfectly. There is no room for error.
The rocket carries the Orion spacecraft into space, developed for the Artemis II project. On board Orion are four crew members. Their mission is to fly to the Moon, loop around it, and return safely to Earth.
For the first time in more than fifty years, humans are leaving low Earth orbit and traveling into deep space.
