This video is the story of how Kosmogonia came to be. For over a decade, Randall Carlson has been developing a full vision for an alternative university. One built on sacred geometry, hands-on craft, and direct connection to the natural world, and designed to function as a refuge if the fragile systems we depend on ever break down.
Randall walks through the history that convinced him the current education system is broken by design - from the postwar consolidation of local school districts to the creation of the Department of Education in 1979 - drawing on his own 15 years running geometry, geology, and astronomy classes for the homeschool community. He connects that critique to his catastrophism research, citing the 1816 “Year Without a Summer” caused by the Tambora eruption and the growing risk of major solar storms, and lays out a campus concept modeled loosely on the Knights Templar's network of safe houses spaced a day's travel apart: library, workshops, off-grid power, permaculture food production, and a sacred-geometry meditation space inspired by his studies with Keith Critchlow.
