The Clovis Culture Vanished at the Younger Dryas

03.08.2026
Over fifty Clovis sites spread across unglaciated North America, occupied for roughly four hundred years. Then, right at the onset of the Younger Dryas, every single one of them was abandoned. The Clovis people, a culture fully accepted by mainstream archaeology, simply did not survive whatever happened at that boundary. The timing is precise: the sites go silent exactly when the climate shifts into the Younger Dryas cooling event. This is not fringe speculation. It is the archaeological record, and it raises an unavoidable question: what kind of event could cause the simultaneous collapse of a widespread, well-adapted culture? The evidence points to something rapid, something catastrophic, something that left no room for gradual adaptation.
