There is much more on the Azores in the full episode with Scott Wolter, on the YouTube channel. Drop sea level 400 feet and every island in the Azores grows much larger. At the last glacial maximum, the Gulf Stream did not flow into the Gulf as it does today. It turned south just north of the Azores Plateau, and this region got that heat. For a colony, a settlement or even a city, this may have been prime habitable land. To colonize islands, people needed navigation by the stars and real astronomical knowledge. Even without the name Atlantis, there is no reason to reject the possibility that people lived on these islands during the Ice Age.
